Football player gets compensation

The Hajdu-Bihar County Court allotted nearly 100 million HUF compensation for a young football player.

The defender who plays in the DVSC junior team suffered severe knee injury during a match back in 2002. The player was operated but his wound got infected. He could not continue his sport career so he sued the hospital. Besides the care and travel fees, the court allotted him the more than 10 million HUF income foregone and half a million HUF allowance per month until he turns 35. In the meantime, the Kenezy Hospital has been reorganized so the unusually big amount has to be paid by the founder, that is the county government. Lawyer Ferenc Mohacsi, representative of the county government says: they don’t agree with the sentence so they have appealed. The lawsuit is going to continue at the Debrecen Tribunal in spring.
